Within the Presence of Trees- Regaining Balance in an Upside-Down World: Gael & Dawn
This workshop is an invitation do a deep dive into stillness and silence, presence, and self-compassion. In a time of great uncertainty it is of value to create resiliency and the ability to become a refuge for ourselves and others. We will learn the science of mindfulness, increase skill sets in working with difficult emotions, thoughts, and pain, as well as increasing our innate capacities for kindness and compassion. The workshop will include meditation (beginners welcome!), relational mindfulness, art, poetry and myth, and practical advice for restoring balance. All within the beauty of wild nature.
About The Presentors:
|Dawn Hope has lived in Ojai, CA for most of her life. She received a Master’s degree from Jean Houston’s Social Artistry Program. Dawn taught both high school as well as elementary school, which included developing curriculum, via various private distance learning programs for over 16 years. She is a Learning Styles Consultant, the CEO of Santa Barbara Thermography Center, and is a Certified Cancer and Health Coach. Dawn is committed to the ancient Greek Asclepian path of restoring health through rest, silence, going inward, utilizing a clean diet, and working with emotions via the creative arts.|
|Gael Belden has been practicing and teaching meditation and mindfulness– both in a Buddhist and secular context- for over 30 years. She is a published author, and has an MA in Mythology and Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is a Certified Mindfulness Educator with the Semel Institute of Behavioral Neuroscience at UCLA. Gael is also the Director of MARC’s distance Intensive Practice Program and teaches their Mindful Awareness Practices online courses. Gael was trained by Kristen Neff to teach Mindful Self-Compassion . She weaves myth and story into her teachings on mindfulness and is a Certified Naturalist.|
