From yoga to energy healing, there are hundreds of systems for describing and using the chakras for personal growth and healing as well as psychic and spiritual advancement. How can we sort through all this information in a clear and responsible way that leads to physical, emotional, and spiritual growth? Based on the teachings of Indian Tantra, the chakras have been used for centuries as focal points for healing, meditation, and achieving a gamut of physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits, from improved health to ultimate enlightenment. This program will explore how the chakra system developed, including rare and forgotten sources, and will provide a simple and safe set of techniques for learning about our chakras and what they have to teach us about self-care and self-development.
Kurt Leland is an award winning poet and composer, a researcher on the possibilities of consciousness, and author of eight books, including The Multidimensional Human: Practices for Astral Projection and Psychic Development and Invisible Worlds: Annie Besant on Psychic and Spiritual Development. He maintains a counseling practice in the Boston area called Spiritual Orienteering, helping people map their inner realities from the mundane affairs of the physical world to extraordinary adventures in consciousness in the invisible worlds. This program is based on Kurt’s just-published book, Rainbow Body: A History of the Western Chakra System from Blavatsky to Brennan.
