Sequoia Lodging nestled in the majestic wilderness of Giant Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Monument, Far Horizons is a retreat center located midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, 7200 feet high in the Sierras… just an hour east of Fresno. For over 50 years, visitors to Far Horizons have forged a connection with nature while creating opportunities for personal growth. Today, our vital natural setting endures as a unique retreat location for experiencing majestic natural surroundings, guided workshops, quiet reflection, and true relaxation. Each retreat program offers facilitated learning, oriented for a variety of topics. Plus, our location is perfect as a “base camp” for exploring the National Monument and Park, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, birding, viewing wildflowers and more. It’s an alternative for great Sequoia Lodging.
REACH INTO NATURE
Visit a special high-altitude wilderness camp with large boulders, trees, rushing streams, starlit footpaths and wildlife. Plan for hot or cold, sun or rain as you pack and bring clothing for relaxing, hiking and swimming. Flashlight, musical instruments, songbooks, telescopes and binoculars are welcome. No pets, in consideration for others and the wildlife. The accommodations at Far Horizons are charming and rustic. We have flush toilets, hot water and lantern lighting. There are fireplaces and kitchens in each of the cabins. We’re off the grid. There is no electricity, wifi, cell coverage or internet available at the camp. Wifi and cell reception is available at nearby National Park facilities if you need it. Visitors are welcome to use the Far Horizons house phone on a limited basis.
